Welcome, welcome! We are the Gastons, and have just started our first blog. We hope that as newbies, we will be able to get the hang of having our own website soon. I feel the pressure mounting already!
We are Derek and Amanda Gaston, and have been married over five years. Traveling, eating, and enjoying a life free of most attachments about sums us up. Derek is 28 and an engineer, and Amanda is 30 and working on an English degree. We are currently residing in Idaho of all places. Derek ‘s career has kept us moving these five years. We have lived in various places such as, Missouri, Austin, Texas, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and now Idaho Falls, Idaho. We live in a small town, but we have the privilege of being very close to great Northwest cuisine. Through the years and all of our travels, we have begun a love affair with food. Good cuisine has become a large part of our lives together. We are by no means experts, but we appreciate well prepared, chef-made food when we can get it.

This blog is going to be our guide on where to find great food in places we have traveled. It is hard to find a good guide that has detailed descriptions of where to eat. We always want to know what the food and service was like… in detail. Just hearing that it was “good” or “excellent” is not enough to get a sense of anything. When you are spending your hard earned cash on a nice dinner out you want to make sure that you know what you are getting yourself into. Hopefully we can be of some assistance there. We will also give some tips on places to stay and fun things to do.
We are not snobs here on our blog, and would love for you to comment, agree, disagree, pout, whine, tout your extended knowledge and most importantly send in any tips on where to go and what to order. We await your future post Gail Simmons!
As we move along in our blog you will get to know us better and get a sense of our food tastes. With Derek the “computer nerd/photographer” and Amanda “the amazingly beautiful writer” (Can you guess who is posting this now?), we hope to entertain and inform you on all things delicious and fun.
